Jake Kerins signs on for Blues

Jake KerinsBury Town are pleased to welcome our third new summer signing as Jake Kerins has agreed to sign on at Ram Meadow. The defender joins from fellow Bostik North side Mildenhall Town where he was awarded Young Player of the Season for the last campaign. He made 47 appearances and scored 2 goals for the Recreation Way side.

Jake was previously with professional side Shrewsbury Town and played for their Under 18 side before the end of his contract in Shropshire.

Manager Ben Chenery said: "We are delighted that Jake has agreed to join us. He is a young player who has had a good education in the game at Shrewsbury, and last season was his first in the non-league game with Mildenhall and he did well for them in their first season at step 4. We needed to bring in a right-back this season and he fits that position perfectly. He is young with a good attitude and has a bright future ahead of him and I am looking forward to him joining up with us. He was a player we had targeted to bring in to improve our team and I am very pleased that he wanted to be part of what we are trying to achieve at Ram Meadow"

Jake is the third new arrival this summer after the signings of Ryan Gibbs from Needham Market and Ryan Horne from AFC Sudbury, and the three new players will get a chance to meet up with the squad when pre-season training commences next week. The Blues first friendly ahead of the new season is on Tuesday 10th July at Newmarket Town FC.
