Blues confirm new signings

Bury Town are now in a position to formally confirm the new signings to the club ahead of the new Bostik League campaign that starts this coming Saturday, 12th August at home to Romford.

First of all joining the back room staff new Physio Jim Crease and head of Sport Science Blair Hammond. Both will play a vital role in keeping the playing squad fit and injury free throughout the season and will work closely with the existing management team of Ben, Christian, John and Alex.

On the player front, Ben has worked hard to recruit a strong squad and we would like to welcome our new signings who have all now officially signed:

James Bradbrook has joined on a season loan from Needham Market. He is a goalkeeper who has experience with Needham's first team and also with Ipswich Wanderers in the Thurlow Nunn League. He will also be joined in competition for the number 1 shirt by Luis Tibbles who has joined the Blues. He was previously with Wroxham and AFC Sudbury at Isthmian League level and also has played for Kirkley & Pakefield.

Also signing for the club is striker Darren Mills. Mills has previously played for Maldon & Tiptree at Isthmian League level and was with them last season, finishing up with a loan spell at Coggeshall Town.

The final new face to join over the summer is 17 year old Tommy Robinson who has been recruited from Cornard United. Robinson was a stand out performer for their Under 18 side last year and also progressed to the first team. The club tried to secure his signature last season and are glad to have made the signing this time around with Tommy certainly one for the future.

Defender David Cooper has also joined us from local side Mildenhall Town. Cooper spent 8 years at Recreation Way with the Hall and made over 400 apperances for his home town club. He was part of their double winning side that secured promotion to the Bostik League last season and will line up against his former club for the Blues this term.

Two further signings have also been made, but these will be faces familar to supporters. Liam Wales has returned to Ram Meadow after a couple of seasons with AFC Sudbury. Also returning to the Blues is striker Cemal Ramadan who was previously with the club on loan from the Ipswich Town Academy. After his loan spell ended, he spent time with Maldon & Tiptree, and has recently been playing for Cambridge City and Soham Town Rangers.

Along with the new signings, three players who were all on loan at Ram Meadow last season have signed permanent deals. Leon Ottley-Gooch joins from Leiston, Ollie Fenn joins from Needham Market and Kyran Clements joins from AFC Sudbury.

Ben Chenery had to say "We have recruited well over the summer with the majority of last seasons players back with us, we have strengthened the squad with 6 new faces. I would like to welcome James, Luis, Darren, David, Tommy, Liam and Cemal to the club and we are all looking forward to the season starting on Saturday against Romford.
