Blues defeat Robins in Friendly

Image result for ely city fcBury Town completed another pre-season victory on Tuesday evening as they defeated Ely City 3-2 at the Unwin Ground. Bury took the lead through Tommy Robinson, but former Bury man Sam Reed slotted home from close range to level the scores on the stroke of half time. It had been a fairly even first 45 minutes, but Bury controlled the second half and re-took the lead through a well worked goal when Liam Wales that was volleyed home by Noel Aitkens. 

It looked likely that Bury would claim a 2-1 victory but Ely drew level a couple of minutes from time when Craig Neal was given too much time on the edge of the Blues box and his shot crashed off the underside of the bar and into the net. 

But Bury had the final say when they scored the winner in the 90th minute, Darren Mills scoring with a low powerful shot into the bottom of the net that gave Reynolds in the home goal no chance. 

Bury have now recorded 4 wins and a draw from their 5 matches so far during pre-season, and continue the schedule when Brightlingsea Regent at home on Saturday, KO 3:00pm.
