Kyran Clements joins from Sudbury

Kyran ClementsBury Town have completed the permanent signing of Kyran Clements from AFC Sudbury. The 20 year old defender, who was under a 2 year contract at Sudbury, joined on a season long loan last summer and impressed greatly as he went on to make 48 appearances during the season, only missing a handful of games through injury.

Securing his signature on a permanent basis was a number one priority once the season had finished, and despite a long drawn out process, we are happy that AFC Sudbury have now accepted an undisclosed fee, despite their desire to keep hold of Kyran.

Ben Chenery was delighted that Kyran had chosen to stay at Ram Meadow and said "It is great news that Kyran has signed and he certainly had options this summer. He played an important part in our team last season and improved each week as he adapted to this level of football. The fact he made 48 starts in our team last season speaks for itself and how myself and the management team regard him as a player. He fitted in well with the team and the supporters and his desire to stay with us shows his commitment. This season will be a tough one as the division will be the most competitive for a number of years, but having all of last season's squad now signed up means we will have a consistency that some teams won't have. Having Kyran back in the team is an important part of our preperations for the new season and I would like to thank Danny Laws at AFC Sudbury for his help in the transfer"

The Blues are due to start pre-season training on Saturday 1st July with the first pre-season friendly at Hadleigh United on Tuesday 11th July, kick off 7:45pm.
