Bury defeat Mildenhall 4-1

Image result for mildenhall townBury Town recorded their second victory of the week over Thurlow Nunn Premier Division opposition. After Tuesday's 3-1 win at Ipswich Wanderers, the Blues chalked up a 4-1 win over Mildenhall Town at Ram Meadow on Thursday evening. The game was effectivly over after 4 minutes as two quickfire goals set the home side on their way. Trialist Tyrone Guthrie opened the scorning with a neat finish from inside the area across the face of goal after 2 minutes, and 2 minutes later Josh Mayhew found the net to give Bury a 2 goal lead. Both sides had further chances in an open game but it was always Bury who looked more dangerous going forward and Josh Mayhew should have scored his second of the game when he burst through one on one but put his shot wide of Josh Pope in the Mildenhall goal.

Bury did add a third goal 5 minutes before the break. The ball fell to Sam Reed and experience told as he made no mistake from the edge of the area. The second half saw a couple of changes for the Blues, but they still looked comfortable. There were few chances on goal until Mildenhall pulled a goal back after 72 minutes. A free kick was spilled back into the area by Neil O'Sullivan and the loose ball was slotted into the net. Despite the goal, it was Bury who looked like adding another, and after a couple of chances, a mix up in the Mildenhall defence left substitute Jody Scowcroft with an easy goal as he slotted the ball home. It was an excellent performance considering the Blues had a very young side out.
